Ceremonies
What is a corroboree?
It is... "A dance ceremony at which music and song play an integral part. It may be sacred with ritual significance; or non-sacred, occasional and informal. In a sacred corroboree, dancers act out ancestral scenes, and men and women have specific roles. In non-sacred ceremonies, dancers may dramatise everyday occurrences. The word is also used in an extended sense to refer to a meeting, a gathering or a festive occasion." Growin' Up Strong, Wendy Notley, p. 7.
